HASKILL, Lyle LeRoy - Passed away Monday, March 20, 2006, at St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, ID. Services will be held at First Congregational United Church of Christ in Grand Blanc, MI on Thursday, March 30, 2006 at 2PM. Local arrangements are being provided by Zeyer Funeral Chapel, Nampa.
Lyle was born August 20, 1921 in Lapeer, MI to Harry and Hattie Haskill. He married Dorris Gustafson in December 1941. They soon moved to Grand Blanc, MI where they spent their next 58 years until moving to spend time with their son, Lee, daughter-in-law, Heather and grandson Lyle, in Nampa, ID.
Okinawa and Korea. He worked for General Motors at the Chevrolet Flint Assembly Plant for 30 years. He was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Grand Blanc. He was an active member of the VASA Order of America, Viking Lodge #730, in Flint, MI.
Lyle is survived by: his wife, Dorris of Nampa, ID; son and daughter-in-law, Lee and Heather Haskill of Nampa, ID; daughter, Maria Sands of Park Hill, MO; and sister, Normagene Hunt of Lapeer, MI. He is also survived by six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Lyle was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Hattie Haskill; brothers, Melvin and Clyde Haskill; and sister, Ferne Bigelow.
The family would like to extend thanks to the wonderful care Lyle received at St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center and Mercy Medical Center. The family would also like to send their love to Marge and Wayne Smoot, Barb Benson and Ray and Elaine Washer who helped support Lyle and Dorris for a number of years prior to their move to Idaho. Finally, the family would like to offer many thanks to Dr. Max Hayden and the wonderful staff and parishioners of the First Congregational UCC for their many years of thoughtfulness and care they provided to Lyle and Dorris. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the First Congregational UCC of Grand Blanc, MI. Dad, Grandpa, Lyle, we love you, and may you rest in peace!
