HASKELL, EDWARD R., 92, of St. Pete Beach, died Tuesday (May 2, 2006) at the Health and Rehabilitation Center at Dolphin View. He came here in 1963 as a seasonal resident from his native Oneida, N.Y., where he was the owner of the Hamblin-Munz-Haskell Insurance Agency. He was a graduate of Colgate University in Hamilton, N.Y., and a Navy veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Geraldine "Gerry;" and a son, Scott, and a granddaughter, Chiara Haskell, both of Boston.

ONEIDA - Edward R. Haskell, 92, Sayles Street, died Tuesday evening, May 2, 2006, in St. Petersburg Beach, Fla.
Born in Oneida on Dec. 23, 1913, he was the son of Edward L. and Cathryn Golden Haskell. A lifelong resident of Oneida, Eddie was a graduate of Oneida High School and Colgate University, class of 1936. From 1936 until his retirement in 1976, Ed was associated with Hamblin, Munz & Haskell Insurance, where he was the owner, president and an independent insurance agent. He was the last home office reporting independent insurance agent for the Hartford Insurance Company in New York state.
In addition to his work in the insurance industry, Ed served on the board of directors of both the Oneida Valley National Bank and Oneida Molded Plastics Corporation, and the Board of Managers of the Oneida City Hospital. Eddie served in the United States Navy during World War II.
Ed married Geraldine Lanz on Sept. 23, 1963. For many years, Eddie and Gerry resided in Florida during winters and on Oneida Lake in summers. Ed was a former Big Chief of the Powhatan Club and Past Exulted Ruler of the Oneida Elks Club, Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks No. 767. In addition, he was a member of the American Legion, Oneida Post No. 169, the Oneidas Club and a charter member of Kanon Valley Country Club.
Surviving are his wife, Gerry; one son and daughter-in-law, Scott E. Haskell and Anne Occhipinti of Boston, Mass.; one granddaughter, Chiara Occhipinti Haskell of Boston, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews. He also is survived by a daughter, Kathleen Jureller and son-in-law, John.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Robert L. Haskell on July 10, 1989 and John G. Haskell on April 11, 2006.
