A memorial service for Henry Breed Haskell, age 83, of Montgomery will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2010 at 11 a.m. at St. James Episcopal Church.
Henry was born July 8, 1927 in Lynn, Massachusetts and passed away October 22, 2010 at his home in Montgomery, Texas after a valiant battle with cancer.
He served his country in the U. S. Navy during World War II on the USS Little Rock, and in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict and the Viet Nam War, retiring after 25 years of service. He was a crew member of the B36s-B52s earning the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Medal with 4 oak leaf clusters. He was a member of the 1st Lone Star Honor Flight. Henry was a long-time member of the St. James Episcopal Church.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Martha Haskell of Montgomery; sons, Mark Haskell of Montgomery and Frank Haskell and wife Jody of Liberty Hill; sisters, Calista Green of Norwich, Connecticut and Sylvia Tallman and husband Carter of Andover, Massachusetts; brother, Joseph Haskell of Nahant, Massachusetts; grandchildren, Holly Haskell and Carrie Haskell. Numerous other relatives and friends also survive.
Henry will be inurned at the Houston National Cemetery.
