  Obituary Nashua - Leslie A. Haskell, 69, of 39 Ferry Road died Tuesday, June 27, 1989, a Nashua Memorial Hospital. A native and lifelong resident of Nashua, he was born Aug. 14, 1919, son of the late Leslie F. and Mae A. (Baker) Haskell. He was a widower of Priscilla R. (Landry) Haskell, who died in Nashua in September 1988. Mr. Haskell was educated in local schools. He joined the New Hampshire National Gaurd in 1939 and was inducted into active service in September of 1940. He served in the South Pacific and the Asiatic theaters, taking part in the Papua, Nee Guinea, and southern Phillippines campaigns. Following his discharge in in 1945, he was employed with the Improved Machinery Division of Ingersoll Rand Co. for 35 years, working as a machine assembler. For several years following his retirement, he was employed as a custodian at Mount St. Mary Seminary in Nashua. Mr. Haskell was a member of the Veterans of Foriegn Wars Post 483 of Nashua and the American Legion Post 98 of Merrimack. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, the New Hampshire Fish and Game Association, the National Wildlife and Audubon societies. Survivors include a son, Leslie E. Haskell of Barrington; two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Claudia) Brown of Derry and Mrs. Earl (Brenda) Steward of Conway; three grandsons, Michael and Bryan Steward of Conway and airman Kevin Steward, U. S. Air Force, stationed in South Dakota; a brother, William Haskell of Nashua; two sisters, Evelyn Stevens of Nashua and Mrs. Charles (Mae) Hughes of Framingham, Mass.; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
