  The Telegraph (Nashua, NH) August 15, 1995 Donald William Stevens, 56, of 2 Charlotte St., Nashua, died Saturday evening, Aug. 12, 1995, at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia. Mr. Stevens had recently been employed with Princeton Properties in Nashua as a maintenance mechanic. He had previously been em- ployed as a firefighter with the Nashua Fire Department from 1960 to 1972 and had been assigned to the Amherst and Lake Street stations. Following his retirement from the fire department, he and his family moved to Newfoundland where he had worked in the construction business, before returning to Nashua in 1978, and at that time worked for Pro Con Construction of Hooksett. He was an Air Force veteran, serving from 1956 to 1960, and was stationed in California and Gander, Newfoundland. Mr. Stevens was a member of the Main Street United Methodist Church in Nashua, and held memberships in Nashua Lodge 720, Benevolent & Protective Order of Elks and the American Legion, Henry J. Sweeney Post 2 of Manchester. He had also been an avid woodworker for many years. He was educated in the Nashua school system. Mr. Stevens was born in Nashua on March 24, 1939, son of Evelyn Mae (Haskell) Stevens of Nashua and the late Mervin E. Stevens Sr. Besides his mother, survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Kristina and Patrick Moan of Edmonton, Alberta, Suzanne and Mark Thompson of Tilton, and Erin Stevens of Edmonton, Alberta; his former wife and close friend, Claire Ann Carnell of Newfoundland; seven grandchildren, Adam, Stephen, Trevor and Brittney Moan of Edmonton, Alberta, and Hubey, Jamie and Kenny Thompson of Tilton; a great-grandson, Daylon Thompson; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Mervin E. Jr. and Betty Stevens of Walpole, David A. and Bobbi Stevens of Douglasville, Ga., and Henry and Carole Stevens of Nashua; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Barbara and Nicholas Katsiaficas of Nashua, Mari lyn and Ralph Schofield of Merrimack and Carol Berry of Litchfield, and several nieces, nephews, cousins and many close friends.
