Nicholas J. Katsiaficas, 69, of 49 Allds St., Nashua, died Sunday, Sept. 27, 1998, at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua after a brief illness.
Most recently, Mr. Katsiaficas worked as a counselor at Harbor Homes in Nashua. Over the years, he was employed with Sprague Electric as a production foreman. Later, he worked as an insurance sales agent with Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. He owned and operated the Delta Construction Co. with his partner, Jimmy Hysette. Previously, he had been employed with Sanders Corp. as a production foreman. He loved sports and traveling.
He served in the Army during the Korean War, attaining the rank of corporal.
He attended the Nashua school system, and he graduated from Nashua High School, class of 1947. Also, he attended the University of New Hampshire.
Mr. Katsiaficas was born in Nashua on May 3, 1929, son of the late James and Lillian (Vlahos) Katsiaficas. He was a lifelong resident of Nashua.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara (Stevens) Katsiaficas of Nashua, with whom he would have celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary on Oct. 21 a daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Thomas Marquis of Nashua three sons and a daughter-in-law, attorneys James and Donna (Carrier) Katsiaficas of Portland, Maine, Steven Katsiaficas and his fiancee, Glenda Alford, of Carrabassett Valley, Maine, and Sam Katsiaficas of Los Angeles two brothers and a sister-in-law, John and Becky (Tocci) Katsiaficas of Nashua, and attorney Arthur Katsiaficas of Denver a sister, Flora Katsiaficas of Fryeburg, Maine his mother-in-law, Evelyn Stevens of Nashua four grandchildren, Caitlin, Nathan and Jacob Katsiaficas of Portland, and Jillian Marquis of Nashua and several nieces and nephews.
