RHINEBECK, N.Y. - Brian Lee Haskell, 62, of Rhinebeck, NY, died Monday, October 24, 2005, at his home, after a sudden illness.
Brian was a member of the wait staff at Foster's Coach House for more than 30 years. At a younger age, Brian was well known locally for his ability to accept meal orders of large parties of people without writing the order down until returning to the kitchen. He enjoyed being with his family and reading history books and mysteries.
Ever since Brian's mother died when he was 16, he mourned her passing; she was dear to him beyond words. He died quickly and with little or no suffering, which was his wish. His soul is now at peace.
Born on July 15, 1943, in Springfield, VT, Brian graduated from Springfield High School and subsequently earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from SUNY, New Paltz.
His mother, Dorothy Carpenter Haskell, predeceased him in 1959; and his father, Glenn Haskell, predeceased him in 1983.
The people who most remember Brian and who mourn his death include his brothers and sister and their spouses: Brent and Sydney Haskell of Canon City, CO; Peter and Martha Haskell of Burlington, VT; and Glenda Haskell and Rick Reichman of Ann Arbor, MI; five nieces and two nephews; three uncles; and many cousins, all of whom he loved unconditionally.
