Ruth was born in Brattleboro, Vt., a daughter to the late Charles R. Parmelee and Evelyn Haskle Parmelee. Ruth taught at the University of Arkansas Medical Science for 31 years. She is preceded in death by her parents; brother: Charles Parmelee; sister: Pearl Johnson; two grandchildren: Matt Wieland and Austin Hanchey; and nephew, Charles Jr. Ruth is survived by her husband James Rawlins of Wye Mountain; children: Pamela Joslin, Holly Wieland, Jill Acree, Faith Hanchey, Wendy Tuck; Grandchildren: Jeff and Chloe Wieland; Claire Hanchey; Andy, Marty and Beth Tuck; and Elizabeth Acree.
