  The News-Sentinel (Fort Wayne, IN) April 2, 2002 Loretta May Ward, 69, of Lathrop, Mo., a native of Coesse, Ind., died Saturday, March 30, 2002, at Liberty Hospital in Liberty. She was a homemaker and graduate of Coesse (Ind.) High School. She was formerly of Independence, Fort Wayne and Florida. Surviving are her husband, Gene; sons Chad A. of Lathrop, Shane E. of Independence and Brett D. of Parkville; a daughter, Shari Nichols of Lathrop; her father, Leo E. Miller of Lathrop; and nine grandchildren. Private graveside services will be held at Union Township Cemetery, Coesse, Ind. Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City, Ind. Memorials are to American Lung Association.
