Wife, mother and grandmother, Charlotte Davidson Criswell of La Mesa, California, went peacefully on October 15, 2005, to be with our Lord. The immediate family was present at her bedside.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Donald Criswell; brother, Dr. Robert Davidson of Manlius, NY; son, Robert Criswell; daughter, Marcia Straub, son-in-law, Donald Straub, and grandchildren, Brian and Kevin Criswell; Cristen and Jessica Owens; and Daniel Straub.
Charlotte was born in Buffalo, New York and raised in Evansville, Indiana. She attended Carlton College in Minnesota and graduated from the University of Wisconsin at Madison where she received her Masters Degree in French, living in the French House her last year. As a graduation gift her parents gave her a trip to California with a side trip to Missoula, MT to visit her brother. There she met the love of her life, Donald Criswell. Married on June 18, 1949 they moved to La Mesa in 1958 where they have lived in the same home for 47 years. Charlotte was a 50 year member of PEO, a long time member of Forrest Home Women's Auxiliary and a lifemember of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority.
