Carolyn Louise Haskell, 65, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, March 4, 2008, at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in Wichita after complications with kidney failure.
She was born on Dec. 30, 1942, in Dodge City, the daughter of Jeff L. and Anita M. (Drews) Andrews. She grew up on a farm west of Dodge City and attended Dodge City schools. On Dec. 2, 1962, she married Robert Haskell in the First Christian Church of Dodge City. He survives. This past December, they celebrated their 45th anniversary and have both been life long residents of Dodge City.
Carolyn was an Avon representative and in leadership for 25 years. She worked for her son Dr. Brent Haskell since the start of his practice on January 18, 1999 until her death.
She loved helping with the farm and seeing her wheat grow and be harvested. She was a country girl at heart. Carolyn most enjoyed her three grandchildren. She loved to watch Hannah and Laryssa sing and dance, and she loved to color pictures with her grandson Aaron and watch him play in the park. She was a member of First Christian Church, Dodge City.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Haskell, Dodge City; two sons, Dr. Brent Haskell and Brad Haskell and wife, Tamra, both of Dodge City; her mother, Anita Marie (Drews) Andrews-Richardson, Dodge City; one brother, Don Andrews and wife, Shelby, Dodge City, two sisters, Wanita Barnes and husband, Jim, and Shirley Stateler, both of Dodge City; one brother-in-law, Don Melton, Dodge City; two granddaughters, Hannah and Laryssa Haskell, both of Dodge City; one grandson, Aaron Haskell, Dodge City; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father; a sister, Delores Melton; a brother-in-law, Stan Stateler; a sister-in-law, Vi Melton; and a daughter-in-law, Trista Haskell.
