  The Salt Lake Tribune June 10, 1995 Irene Adeline Smith Haskell, age 74, West Valley City, Utah died Wednesday, June 7, 1995. She had been in ill health for the past year. She was born August 5, 1920 in Clear Creek, Carbon County, Utah, to Carlyle DeVeaux and Geneva Rasmussen Smith, the eldest of three children. She has been a resident of Utah her entire life. She married Lawrence Eugene Haskell on February 4, 1939 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Their vows were solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on October 30, 1944. She was retired from the Granite School District and was formerly employed at Grants in Sugar House. She was a member of the LDS Church, serving in the Primary Organization and Relief Society for many years. She is survived by her husband and six sons, Eugene Carlyle, Boise, Idaho; Larry Richard, Rock Springs, Wyoming; Phillip Warren, Meridian, Idaho; Craig Dick, Salt Lake City; Terry Lynn, Summit Park, Utah; Kevin Lawrence, Holladay; a sister, Beth Tuttle, Salt Lake City; and half-sisters, Virginia Berensen Elegante, Leota Berensen Kofford; 26 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by parents; stepfather, Lawrence Peter Berensen; brother, Dick Peter Smith, who was killed in World War II; one great-grandson, Cody Haskell and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
