  The Times Union (Albany, NY) September 24, 2023 SOUTH BETHLEHEM - Alice Becker Haskell passed away on September 21, 2023, at the Teresian House, Albany. Alice was 97 years young, born on June 4, 1926, in Albany. Alice was predeceased by her husband, John Root Haskell, after 59 years of marriage; also her brother Frank Becker Jr. (Virginia) and son, Peter G. Haskell; and her parents, Alice J. and Frank Becker Sr. Alice graduated from Berne-Knox-Westerlo High School in 1945. She began her working career at FW Woolworth, Albany office, and GE Plastics for over 20 years as a raw materials purchasing agent, retiring at age 65. She was a life member of Selkirk Fire Co. Auxiliary #3. Alice was also a member of South Bethlehem United Methodist Church, where she served as vice president of the Women's Group and managed the church's thrift shop for several years. Alice loved being with her family and was blessed with several longtime friends from work and within her community. Special acknowledgements extended to John and Diane Capron for their never-ending friendship. The family would also like to thank the staff at the Teresian House for their excellent care and kindness. Alice is survived by her sons, John Reginald Haskell (Christina), Michael F. Haskell (Diane); granddaughters, Carly Glassbrenner (John), Jesse Jette (Sean Mangan), Laura Haskell, Nina Haskell; great-grandchildren, Haley Roberts (Jacob), Morgan Glassbrenner, Sylas; and niece, Gail VanKempen, Paris, France.
