BURLESON - Page Haskell, 74, a retired Seventh-day Adventist minister, died Thursday, July 2, 1998, at a Burleson nursing home.
Page Haskell was born March 6, 1924, in Eastridge, Tenn. He graduated from Southern Missionary College in Collegedale, Tenn., in 1947. He was ordained as a minister by the Seventh-day Adventist Church. He served the church as a business manager at Adventist hospitals in Singapore, Penang, Malaysia and Manila, the Philippines.
He served as pastor of churches in Asheville and Waynesville, N.C. He served as a bookstore manager, assistant treasurer and treasurer of the Arkansas-Louisiana Conference. He moved to Burleson in 1982 and served as associate treasurer of the Southwestern Union Conference of Seventh-day Adventists until his retirement in 1992.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Bates Haskell, on April 18, 1998.
Survivors: Son, Merrill Haskell of Burleson; daughter, Cheryl Whitten of Burleson; brother, Donald Haskell of California; sister, Catherine Clem of Illinois; grandchildren, Lauren and Chris Haskell of Sanford, Fla., Mary Brown, David Jr., Irene, Yesenia, Viviana, Elizabeth, Jose R., Jose G., Joel, Angela, Michael, Daniel, Emily, Nathan, Caterina and James Whitten; great-grandchildren, Kasha and Kasey Brown; and nieces, Anita Wooding and Juanita Reiter.
