  The Massena Observer November 12, 1951 Herbert Haskell Funeral Held In Massena Funeral rites for Herbert Haskell, 68, were held Saturday afternoon at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Hanlan Cook, 26 Elm St. Mr. Haskell died last week Monday morning in St. Petersburg, Fla. The body arrived here Thursday morning and was taken to the Cook home. Many friends and neighbors called to express their condolences. Groups appearing at the Cook home Friday night were Cretona Chapter 616, OES; Massena Court 70, Order of Amaranth; St Lawrence Rebekah Lodge 348; Massena Lodge 513, F. and A. M., of which Mr. Haskell was a past master. The Eastern Star Chapter and the Massena Lodge 513 conducted ritualistic services. The Rev. William O. Thomas, pastor of the First Methodist Church, conducted the funeral services Saturday afternoon and burial was made in Pine Grove Cemetery. Surviving are the wife; son, Ernest Haskell, Binghamton; three grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Flora Sullivan, Massena, and one brother, Herman Haskell, Malone. Mr. and Mrs. Haskell left here about three weeks ago to go to Florida as has been their custom each Winter. Mr. Haskell stood the trip very well. Last week Monday morning, he had an attack and passed away very quickly. They were living in a traile
