On September 12, 2005, Owen Maurice Elmer of Payson, died peacefully in the home he was born and also married in.
He was born in Payson, Utah on May 11, 1920 to Albert Earl and Laura Latieca Elmer.
He married his sweetheart, Louise Slaymaker, on February 25, 1939. They were later sealed in the Manti LDS Temple.
Owen was a veteran of World War II. He worked for Payson City as a Street Supervisor for 21 years. He loved camping, fishing and spending time with his family. He was known for his love of music and playing the guita
He is survived by: his wife of 66 years; his children, Dora Lee Carter (Merrill); Connie Dean Ellsworth (Randy); Lynette Record (Scott); Scott Elmer (Robyn); a son-in-law, Tom Stewart; 25 grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Karen Stewart, and a granddaughter, Aubrey Lee Taylor.
