Beloved mother and grandmother, Grace Myers Elmer, age 89, passed away quietly on Friday, February 3, 2006, of causes incident to age.
She was born December 29, 1916, in Panguitch, Utah , the fourth of nine daughters born to Richard J. and Jennie Wilcock Myers. She moved to Spring Lake.
She married Max Albert Elmer, October 30, 1933, in Payson, Utah. He preceded her in death, November 3, 1986. They made their home in Payson; and, later lived in Springville, until they retired and then moved to St. George.
She worked as a seamstress for Zions Upholstery, and she and Max owned and operated their own business. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing. They loved their summer home in Woodland. She enjoyed taking special care of her yard.
Grace was happiest when taking care of, and feeding family and friends. She was talented with handwork, making many crocheted afghans and dolls. She was always very active.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She received her endowments in the St. George Temple.
Survivors include three daughters: Bonnie Singleton, Orem; Merlene (John) Chasel, Park City; Vonda (Rex) Bouchard, South Weber; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 28 great-great-grandchildren; four sisters: Beth Lyman, Spring Lake; Dawn Butterfield, Merla Bullock, Jesse Hartvigsen, all of Provo. She was preceded in death by two sons, Richard and Dan Elmer; sons-in-law, Ray Singleton and Elwood "Mose" Johnson; three grandsons: Mike O'Brien, David and Richard Bouchard; four sisters: Ulala Butler, Dean Peery, Della Bliss and Rita Gaily.
