Sally Ann (McManus) Byrne of Sandwich, a health care worker, died Thursday at Falmouth Hospital after a brief illness. She was 63.
Born and raised in Cambridge, Mrs. Byrne attended Cambridge High and Latin School. She had been a Cambridge resident for 30 years and moved to the Cape in 1978. She served as a health care worker at the Pilgrim Pride Nursing Home in Mashpee from 1980 until its close, and then at Cape & Islands Rehabilitation Hospital for two years. Mrs. Byrne competed nationally as a speed skater and was a member of the Boston Skating Club.
Wife of the late John J., she is survived by three sons, Dennis J., John F. and Kevin M., all of Sandwich; four daughters, Kathleen, Sally Fecto, Maureen Keene and Sheila Marinaccio, all of Sandwich; two brothers, Donald McManus of Santa Barbara, Calif., and William McManus of Westfield; a sister, Mary Santos of Portsmouth, R.I.; 13 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
