Gerry Trump
June 26, 1926 — September 22, 2024
Geraldine Louise Haskell Trump, 98, known as "Gerry" by many and as "Gigi" by some of her family, passed away Sunday, September 22, 2024, at her home at Chapel Pointe. Gerry was born June 26, 1926, in Gardners, to the late Donald H. and Grace (Lobaugh) Haskell.
Gerry was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Charles E. Trump, who passed away in 2017, and by her sisters, Joyce Ferree and Faye Smith.
She is survived by two sons, David Haskell Trump and wife, Judith of Midlothian VA, and Douglas Paull Trump and wife, Debra of Asheville NC; five grandchildren, Allison Trump Brook and husband, Patrick of Henrico, VA, Caitlin Trump Johnson and husband, Patrick of Asheville, NC, Daniel Gardner Trump and wife, Kelly of Midlothian, VA, Andrew Haskell Trump and wife, Cassie Ligh of Philadelphia, and Matthew Paull Trump of Jersey City, NJ; and nine great grandchildren.
She graduated from Boiling Springs High School, class of 1943. Gerry and Charles lived and raised their family in Gardners before moving to Carlisle in 1981. She retired from the U.S. Postal Service, having worked in the Gardners, Mt. Holly Springs and Carlisle offices. Gerry was a life-long member of the Uriah United Methodist Church. Before having children, she worked at C.H. Masland & Sons and the Carlisle Shoe Company. Gerry was a skilled softball player (batting left and throwing right, playing first base) and avid baseball fan who faithfully followed her "Nats".
Burial will be held privately in the Uriah Church Cemetery.
