Grace C. Haskell, 93, Topton, a former Reading School District teacher, died March 31 at 9:52 a.m. in the Henry Health Care Center of the Lutheran Home at Topton.
Her husband, Ellery B. Haskell, died Sept. 1, 2002.
Born in Wilkinsburg, Allegheny County, she was a daughter of the late Clyde A. and Hulda B. (McQuiston) Campbell.
Haskell had been employed as an elementary school teacher in Reading for 20 years, retiring in 1970. She previously taught French at Prospect Park High School, Delaware County.She was a member of First Baptist Church, Reading. She was a past president of the ELCA women's association at Grace Lutheran Church, Topton, where she was an associate member.Haskell was president of the Albright College women's organization during the 1950s.She received her bachelor's and master's degrees in education from the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia.
Haskell is survived by a son, Richard C., Claremont, Calif., and a daughter, Helen H. (Haskell) Bosart, Schenectady, N.Y. Other survivors include a sister, Helen C. (Campbell) Brooks, a resident at Luther Haven, Topton.There are also one grandson, three stepgranddaughters and three stepgreat-grandchildren.
