  Find-a-Grave John Forest Brownell, Jr. 70 of Assonet, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family, on Sunday December 26, 2010. He was the husband of Victoria Anne (Covell) Brownell, married 42 years; and son of Eva (Pittsley) Brownell of Assonet and the late John F. Brownell, Sr. He was born in New Bedford and lived the past 20 years in Assonet. He served in the US Army during the Viet Nam War. He was formerly employed by Brownell High Voltage Co., until his retirement as a cable splicer and had previously worked as a school bus driver for many years. John was a member of the IBEW Local #104 and the Pigeon Club whereas he enjoyed racing pigeons. He was considered a 'jack of all trades' to everyone as he was very helpful to all who knew him. He enjoyed bike riding, camping, mountain climbing and he saved tabs from soda cans that he donated for cancer children. He was the father of the late Charlotte Brownell.
