NORTH EAST _ Helen M. Reid, 84, 2 Gibson St., North East, formerly of Freeport Road, North East, died Friday, March 31, 1995, at Hamot Medical Center.
She was born in North East on Aug. 11, 1910, daughter of the late G. Elwood and Bertha M. Haskell Miller.
She retired after 25 years as a third-grade teacher with the North East School District. She was a graduate of North East High School and Edinboro Normal School. She was a member of the National Education Association and the Pennsylvania Retired Teachers Association.
Mrs. Reid was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of North East, where she had served as a Deacon. She was also a life member of Shiloh Chapter 153 Order of the Easter Star.
She is survived by two sons, Robert C. Reid of Ocoee, Fla., and Thomas E. Reid of Willoughby, Ohio; one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Mary Ann) Thomson of North East; one brother, Ralph W. Miller of North East; one sister, Winifred Griffin of North East; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert S. Reid, on June 1, 1986; an infant daughter, Susan Reid; two brothers, Haskell Miller and Walter Miller; one sister, Genevieve Youngs; and one grandson, Keith E. Reid.
