Ginger was born March 4, 1964, in Columbia, SC, the daughter of E.G. "Jerry" Haskell and the late Jane Hinken Haskell. She was a graduate of Stall High School and had attended the University of South Carolina at Spartanburg, SC, on an Athletic Scholarship playing basketball. She was also a member of the Charleston Bird Club and she enjoyed working with the birds. Survivors include her father "Jerry" Haskell of Hanahan, SC, a brother, Scott Haskell of Charlotte, NC, a maternal grandmother, Mildred Hinken of Summerville, and several nieces and nephews.
