Nancy Haskell Beerbower Michaels, age 88, of North East, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday September 22, 2010 at Pleasant Ridge Manor West.
She was born on October 4, 1921 in North East to the late Seth Haskell and Helen Ore Haskell Pettit. She was formerly employed with the North East School District as one of the first woman school bus drivers in Erie County for several years. She was a 50 year member of the First Presbyterian in North East and currently a member of the Bethel Presbyterian Church in Erie. Nancy was an accomplished musician who taught theater organ, played at several local churches, and social events. She was famous for her baking, candy-making, and wedding cakes. She loved animals and had a variety of talents and skills.
She was preceded in death by her 1st husband Lloyd Beerbower (1982) and son Gary L. Beerbower (1984). She is survived by her husband George Edward Michaels of Harborcreek; a daughter, Debbie Goodwin and husband Paul of Lake City whom she resided; a daughter-in-law Jane Mead and husband Jeff of North East; granddaughter, Erin Beerbower; step-daughter, Patty Frey; and step-grandchildren, Amanda, Megan, and Garret.
