Schultz, Janice Elizabeth Petersen, 81, passed away Sunday March 8, 2009 in Orange, California due to the complications of pneumonia.
She was born in Newton, UT August 30, 1927 to Marinus and Mary Elizabeth Petersen. She moved to California in 1939 and graduated from Downey High School in 1945.
Janice married Richard "Smokey" Elwood Schultz on February 14, 1946 and they enjoyed 63 years of marriage. Many lives were touched by Janice's love and kindness. She kept family and friends close. She loved writing poetry, watching the Angels and Lakers and was a dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She and her husband served as managers at Orange Village Mobile Home Park for 14 years.
Janice is survived by her husband, Richard "Smokey" Elwood Schultz; her daughters, Jan (John) Petterson of Porterville, CA, Kathy (Karl) Irwin of Anaheim, CA; Pat (Cliff) Dahr of Longmont, CO, and Dawn (Jim) Arnone of Anaheim, CA, and 8 granddaughters; 5 great-granddaughters, and 5 great-grandsons; her brothers, Vernon (Dorothy) Petersen of Hyde Park, UT, Morgan Petersen of Palm Springs, CA, Roselene Heywood of Hesperia, CA, Lois Taylor of Elk Ridge, UT; her sister in-law, Arlene Stukey of Santa Ana, CA and many nieces and nephews.
Janice was pre deceased by her brothers, Marinus Fern, James Foy, Parley Earl, and Curtis Haskell Petersen.
