  The Gazette (Cedar Rapids-Iowa City, IA) December 24, 2003 Duane L. Bush, 74, a resident of Living Center West, died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2003, in St. Luke's Hospital following a short illness. Survivors include a son, Marc and wife Deb of Oelwein; a daughter, Stacy Kerkman and husband Rod of Council Bluffs; stepchildren, Barb Berert and husband James of Minnesota and Robert Thomas of Van Horne; two sisters, Velma Hunting and husband Wayne of Littleport and Gladys Mason of Glenbrook, Wyo.; and three brothers, Bob of Vinton, Howard of Tennessee and Marian of Fredericksburg. Also surviving are eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother. Duane was born Sept. 27, 1929, in Manchester, Iowa, the son of Alfred and Irene Bessler Bush. He married De Elda Bush on Feb. 2, 2000. She died in 2003. He was employed by LeFebure Co. in Cedar Rapids. He was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
