RUMNEY -- Marjorie A. Patterson, 94, formerly of School Street, died Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2005, at the Merrimack County Nursing Home in Boscawen.
She was born in Wilmot Flats on April 30, 1911, the daughter of Alden and Flora (Hall) Burt.
She was the oldest of six children and grew up in West Rumney. She graduated from Plymouth Normal School.
She married John F. Patterson Sr. in 1931 and lived in Rumney most of her life. She was the best wife, mother, mother-in-law and grandmother that she could be. She loved giving and doing for family and friends whenever she could.She was an active member of Rumney Baptist Church for many years.
Mrs. Patterson was predeceased by her husband on Aug. 3, 1973. She was also predeceased by her sister, Arlene Cook of Fitchburg, Mass.; two brothers, Alden Burt of Derry and Lloyd Burt of Elliot, Maine; and two granddaughters, Marie Reed and Brianna Patterson.
Survivors include five sons, John F. Patterson Jr. and his wife, Dorothy, of Rumney, Dale E. Patterson and his wife, Judy, of Canterbury, Robert A. Patterson and his wife, Marilyn, of Plymouth; Allan Patterson and his wife, Gail, of Northfield, Vt.; and Morris N. Patterson and his wife, Barbara, of Thornton; one daughter, Carol Dusseault and her husband, Rene, of Concord; 14 grandchildren; many great- and great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Evelyn Erickson of West Rumney and Pauline Johnson of Beaverton, Ore.
