It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Mark Haskell. Mark was born Nov. 1st, 1953 @ 1:01 am at Morristown Memorial Hospital, New Jersey. He attended Holy Family Elementary School in Florham Park, NJ, Delbarton High School in Morristown and graduated from Miami University in Ohio. After college, Mark moved to Florida and eventually started up a business in Stuart called A Sailors Place - a business that flourished for almost 40 years.
While growing up, Mark spent much of the summertime on Long Beach Island, NJ. and Barnegat Bay. "Surf City was the place to be!" Along with his best buds, he was a fixture at the Surf City Yacht Club and enjoyed participating in sailing competitions, as well as getting into the kinds of "trouble" that only youngsters manage to get into on those warm care-free summer days and nights. Those were the days….
Years later, a more mature Mark met the love of his life, Christine, on LBI. It was the start of a 4-year long-distance relationship that ultimately culminated in their wedding in 2012.
He is survived by his loving wife, Christine, his sister, Meg, and a few nefarious souls who contributed to his delinquency throughout his lifetime.. (You know who you are!)
Mark owned dogs all his life. His two favorites - Madison and Rippington - are probably on cloud nine now that their "daddy" can play with them again. I
