  Lincoln Journal Star April 14, 2012 Derle W. McCorkle, age 79, of Lincoln, died Thursday, April 12, 2012. He was born on November 19, 1932 in Ionia, Kan. to William and Wanous (Hatfield) McCorkle. U.S. Air Force veteran. He married Peggy Mefford on November 25, 1955 in Red Cloud. He retired with the Nebraska State Dept. of Roads on August 6, 1993 after 39 years. Member of V.F.W. Post #3606 and American Legion Post #354. He enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting. Survived by wife, Peggy of Lincoln; daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Roger Bergman of Lincoln; son, Phillip McCorkle of Lincoln; grandchildren: Jordan, Angela, Daniel, Ashley, and Nicole; great grandchildren: Austin, Carter and Layne. Preceded in death by parents, brother Earl Duane.
