Derryl S. Trost, 84, of Warren, died Dec. 1, 2010, at his home. Cremation rites have been accorded and there were no visitation or services at this time.
He was born June 30, 1926, in Rush Township, Jo Davies County, the son of Alva and Dorothy (Stevens) Trost. He attended schools in Stockton and Warren. He served his country in the United States Navy in 1944, in the Mediterranean area. He was discharged in June, 1946, and returned to the family farm. He married Maribell Dawson Dec. 22, 1946, at Warren United Methodist Church. They were together for 65 years. He enjoyed his family and friends, he loved farming and country life, fishing at the lake, camping trips, traveling and games.
Survivors include his wife, Maribell, of Warren; three children and spouses, David Trost of Warren, Barbara and Greg Nelson of Geneseo and Joanne and Greg Gallagher of Apple River; six grandchildren and spouses, Megan and Mike Mueller, Dan Trost, Jeff and Christine Nelson, Kim and Nick Gehling, Jeremy Gallagher and Erin Gallagher; six great-grandchildren, Ethan Trost, Lucas Nelson, Cassidy Trost, Mason Mueller, Jack Gehling, and Bobby Nelson; and a brother and spouse, Wayne and Leona Trost of Elizabeth.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Bob, in 2008.
