HASKELL, Dorrold Raymond 80, of Spring Hill, formerly of St. Petersburg, passed away Nov. 2, 2007. He was born April 16, 1927, in Niagara Falls, NY, later moving to Cleveland Heights, OH, where he was an Eagle Scout and participated in all high school sports.
He graduated in 1950 from Miami University, Oxford, OH. He served in the Army at the end of WWII in the Germany Occupational Force, in Special Services, where he played basketball and baseball at various military posts, and set up intramural sports for the troops. He worked in the fiance business in Cincinnati, OH, before being transferred to Florida in 1965, where he retired in 1989, after a 35-year personal fiance career. He subsequently moved to Timber Pines to make the most of retiree golf, and added two holes-in-one to his record. He was also a Tennessee Squire #c8642.
Survived by his wife of 58 years, Esther; three children, Mike (Vicki), Ron (Susan), and Linda (Bill) Brown; grandchildren, Kristi (Dave) Ellison, Marci (Brian) Pickett, Clint, Kyle, and Katie; great-grandchildren, Owen Pickett, and Noah Ellison.
