ROCKLAND - Exlina Flora McClure, 65, died October 19, 2015, at the Knox Center for Long Term Care following an extended illness. Born at Deer Isle, Maine, October 20, 1949, she was the daughter of Asa A., Sr. and Kathleen Eaton Robbins. She attended local schools.
On January 19, 1968 she married George H. McClure, Sr. at the Nazarene Church in Rockland. The couple made their home here since that time. Flora was a homemaker, and especially enjoyed her grandchildren. In earlier years she worked at Stinson Canning Company.
She was a one-of-a-kind woman who was loved by many. She had an old soul and held many people close in her heart. She was kind, loving and compassionate, and loved most animals; all traits she passed down to her children and grandchildren. She particularly enjoyed raising a grandson, Dylan. Though her memories were fading, she made sure that she left everlasting memories through her love of photography. Flora loved being with her family, motorcycle rides, and at any point would take the opportunity to jump in the dump truck and ride all day with her husband. She took great pleasure in caring for others, never asking anything in return. Strong and brave, Flora never showed her fears. She fought a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease, and even though her battle was lost to soon, she left an everlasting mark with all that helped her during this time.
Other than her parents Flora was pre-deceased by two brothers, Larry Robbins, Daniel Robbins; a sister-in-law June Robbins; and daughter-in-law Tiffany J. McClure.
She is survived by her children, James and Stacy McClure of Rockport, Misty and Albert Fogg of Rockland, George and Naomi McClure of Belfast; siblings Asa Robbins of Belfast, Frances Robbins of Rockland, James Robbins of Camden; eleven grandchildren, Jasmine, Madison, Dylan, Krysten, Tailynne, Hunter, Trishelle, Olivia, Amelia, Jaxon and Ryker; as well as several nieces and nephews.
