Williams Walnut Creek April 23, 1909 Nov. 30, 1998 Martelle Williams, a retired medical secretary for the University of Utah, died at San Marco Convalescent Hospital in Walnut Creek. She was 89. The native of Salt Lake City lived in Walnut Creek for 33 years. Education: LDS Business College. Affiliations and hobbies: Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Lafayette, past Relief Society president, Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Survivors: Daughter, Lorna Smith of Walnut Creek; son, Arlen Gayle Williams of Clear Lake Oaks; 12 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. _____ The Deseret News December 2, 1998 Martelle S. Williams, 89, died November 30, 1998 in Walnut Creek, CA. Born April 23, 1909, Salt Lake City, UT, she was a resident of Walnut Creek for 33 years. Graduated from LDS Business College, she was a retired medical secretary for the University of Utah. Member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Lafayette Ward. Former Relief Society president and Primary president. Sang in the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. She enjoyed flowers. Survived by daughter, Lorna (Gil) Smith, Walnut Creek, CA; son, Arlen Gayle Williams, Clear Lake Oaks, CA; 12 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren.
