Graveside services for Edwin Allen, 54, of Sequim will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednsday in Sequim View Cemetery. Bishop Jay Sorenson of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will officiate. Mr. Allen died Sunday, Jan. 24, 1993, in Sequim.
He was born Sept. 1, 1938, in Seattle to Rollin and Helen Miskin Allen. He graduated from high school in Blackfoot, Idaho. InOctober 1955, he enlisted in the U. S. Army and worked as a radar communications technician until his discharge in 1957, after which he moved to Seattle in 1965 and worked as first mate for Puget Sound Tug and Barge.
He married Corrine Hebert March 17, 1969, in Coeur D'Alene, Idaho. From 1970-73 he worked as an electrician for Puget Sound Shipyard; from 1973-79 he worked as foreman for Seattle Western Structural Steel and Welding. In 1979, he owned and operated a grocery store in Victor, Idaho. The Allens moved to Sequim in 1983, where they purchased Beauty in the Country Hair Salon. Mr. Allen was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Sequim and the Sequim American Legion.
Survivors include wife Corrine of Sequim; son Wayne Allen of Seattle; daughters Alesa Paquette of Lake Oswego, Ore., Diane Shimmin of Beale, Air Force Base in California, and Merline Bowman of St. Anthony, Idaho; brothers Eric Allen of Salt Lake City, and Arrel Allen of St. Anthony, Idaho; sisters Jamar Wilson of Salt Lake City, Sozel Mumm of Rexburg, Idaho, Vona Smith of Ucon, Idaho, and Roxy Brazzeal of St. George, Utah; and six grandchildren.
