Funeral services have been set for 3 p.m. Tuesday at At Hinckley Chapel for Serring Amos Davis, 76, who died early Monday at his home after a lengthy illness. The Rev. R. Matthew will conduct the services at the chapel, and burial will be in Buena Vista Burial Park.
Mr. Davis is survived by his wife, one son, an only child, Roger N. Davis of San Antonio, formerly of Olmito, and three grandchildren, Roger Jr., Aletha and Doreen Davis, all of San Antonio.
Mr. Davis was born October 7, 1866 in Hillsdale county, Michigan, and came to the Valley from Chicago about six years ago. He has resided in Brownsville most of the time. He was a member of the Baptist church.
